First Official Photos of All-Wheel Drive 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 4S Coupe and Convertibles

First Official Photos of All-Wheel Drive 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 4S Coupe and Convertibles
The Porsche 991 family has just got bigger as the first images of the four-wheel drive Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S models in both coupe and convertible body styles have hit the web ahead of their world premiere at the 2012 edition of the Paris Motor Show in September 27.
As with the previous generations of the Carrera 4/4S series, the main way to tell apart the rear-wheel drive (RWD) 911s from their all-wheel drive (AWD) siblings is the moniker on the rear and the reflective strip that connects the tail lamps.
Just like the RWD variants, the Carrera 4 has two oval tailpipes while the more powerful Carrera 4S sports quad exhausts tips.
We don’t have any official information on the specifications yet, but aside from Porsche's all-wheel drive system, the Carrera 4 and 4S models will feature a modified suspension that will add some weight to the car.
The engines will be the same as the ones found on the RWD versions.
As such, the base Carrera 4 features a 3.4-litre flat-six with direct fuel injection and an output of 345hp (350PS) at 7,400 rpm and 390Nm (288 lb-ft) at 5,600 rpm, while the Carrera 4S makes do with a 3.8-litre flat-six with direct fuel injection rated at 394hp (400PS) at 7,400 rpm and 440Nm (324 lb-ft) at 5,600 rpm.
More details should be released over the next few days.

2012 Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Series II

The 2012 Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Series II reveals new design features, even though the basic appearance of the vehicle has not changed through the years.

From its inception in 2003, the Phantom series has been built as an ultra-luxury vehicle and the 2012 version sees the introduction of advanced cutting edge technology, improved drivetrain performance, and the latest in connectivity to complement the luxury.

Exterior

The front of the car is where the most visible changes can be seen. The grille has been completely re-styled and the headlights now sport a rectangular appearance.

The lights themselves are full-LED clusters to ensure easy integration with modern light technology, including curve light capability where the beams are reflected in the direction of travel. This feature provides improved illumination when coming around corners.

The headlights are also adaptive, meaning the beam can change according to driving conditions. When traveling at lower speeds, the beam is dispersed over a wider angle to make it easier to spot pedestrians. The beam automatically extends and slightly favors the driver's side of the road at higher speeds.

Performance

The drivetrain on the 2012 Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Series II sees several enhancements. The car is now equipped with a new 8-speed, fully automatic transmission with rear differential.

This controls the V12, direct injection engine. The enhancements have led to a 10% reduction in fuel consumption and to reduced CO2 emissions.

Added Features Inside

The Phantom Coupe Series II has also had a revamp of the electronics. The SatNav system has been upgraded. It now can display 3D maps and surrounding topography. It also provides information on the local area, such as places of interest, local theaters and restaurants.

The SatNav, audio-visual and driver information displays appear on the 8.8" full color screen. The screen is also used to display images from the front, rear and top-mounted cameras. There are 8 pre-programmable buttons under the screen that can be used to give quick access to numerous options, like the phone book.

Audi TT Coupe more details revealed

2014 audi tt 1 460x0w1 Audi TT Coupe more details revealed

Having previously been scooped, here are a few more details about the 2014 Audi TT that reveal a car that is even more dynamic and powerful that the car it is replacing.

Although this Audi TT Mk3 version will not be encroaching on the R8, it does move further upmarket and reduces the terrain for the proposed mid-engined R5 developed by Porsche. Porsche, which could become part of VW before the end of the year has always kept a close eye on on the iconic TT which rivals that of the Boxster and Cayman models.

The new TT is based on the 20% more cost- and space-efficient MQB components set pioneered by the new A3 and VW Golf. Although Audi has in the past toyed with additional TT bodystyles like a shooting brake (Tokyo 2005) and a spyder (Wörthersee 2007), projected sales volumes don´t seem to justify anything but a status quo mix of hard and soft top and so the TT retains the character and the unmistakable proportions of the current vintage.

As for the design, the front end features yet another variation of the trademark singleframe grille, this time boasting a set back main air intake, even more elaborate LED headlights, foglamps, cornering lights, DRLs and indicators, some contrasting brightwork and a pair of fake lower black vents.

The interior sports the next evolution of Audi’s famed MMI ergonomics. Abandoning the familiar in-dash monitor, it incorporates a large display in the driver’s primary field of vision.

Thanks to the less complex MQB architecture and a higher percentage of lightweight materials, the next TT will shed about 60 kilos. Other efficiency-enhancing measures include a low-friction quattro drivetrain, improved aerodynamics and a set of more economical engines.

Audi’s engineering chief Michael Dick has confirmed that the next TT RS will be positioned above the current model, so it seems safe to expect a beefed-up 2.5-litre turbo motor good for 380bhp.

Both the coupe (June 2014) and the roadster (November 2014) can initially rely on six forward ratios, but there is a seven-speed S-tronic in the works for calendar year 2015.
